Conner's Sad Story

Being my age and gay is one of the toughest thing to be. I always knew I was gay but I kept myself in the closet to everyone because where I'm from, being gay is like grounds for eviction. Before I go on with this story let me tell you about myself. My name is Conner and I am going to be going to High School after summer vacation.

I have 1 friend who is also my secret boyfriend. everyone else I know just knows me but we don't talk. I live with my mom, dad, and my little brother. Because I was born in January and my brother was born the same year but in December, we're in the same grade. For some reason He never really liked me, maybe its because he always thought I was gay or I don't know. My sister moved away with her boyfriend couple months ago. I am Half Greek and half asian.

It was the second last week of school and I was skipping class with my boyfriend (Joseph) in the library. No one knew we were dating but we were always together. when we were in the library we went in the old history section and started to make out. we always made out there because no one ever goes that side. it was filled with cob webs and stuff like that. We heard foot steps but Joseph told me that they're not coming this way so relax. We heard a loud WOW followed by a sshh.

I looked up and it was my brother Calvin.
Calvin: WOW I knew you were a fag. *he laughed*
I just looked there shocked when Joseph stood up.
Joseph: Look what is it going to take for you to stay quiet about this?
Calvin: I don't know this is pretty juicy stuff.
Joseph: Hey would $20 do it?

Calvin: most deff, don't worry I won't tell anyone you know
Joseph: Okay good take it, and if you cross me I swear to God i'm cutting off your dick.
Calvin: Don't worry, I won't.

Calvin walked off with a big smile on his face. wow he just found out his brother is gay and he's smiling. Maybe coming out wouldn't be so bad.
Me: You didn't have to do that you know.
Joseph: yea I did. I don't want anyone knowing I'm gay.

We spent the rest of the period chilling on the couches in the library just thinking. When the bell rang it was now the end of the day. When I entered the hallway I noticed that almost everyone's eyes were on me and Joseph. A kid named Jake came up to us and called us fag buddies so loud in front of everybody. I was so embarrassed. Joseph grabbed Jake and put him up against the locker.
Joseph: Who the fuck told you? Was it Calvin?

Jake: What the fuck dude, and maybe he did, maybe he didn't.
Joseph put Jake down and then quickly left the school. I also left the school quick and went straight home.

When I got home my brother greeted me with a faggot and then the middle finger. My mom and dad was home and I asked Calvin if he told them. He said he did and I sat down on the couch shaking. My mom and dad came out of their room and told me to get out. I asked why I should leave and my dad told me that he doesn't want a faggot living in his house. Tears started to pour out my eyes then I turned to my mom. Sorry but I agree with your dad, we can't have someone like you corrupt Calvin. I started bawling and left the house.

I went to Joseph house and he answered the door. I noticed he was crying and I asked him what's wrong.
Joseph: They Know Conner.
Me: They know? What do they know?
Joseph: Everything! My cousin told my aunt and my aunt told my dad.
*I started to cry again wit him.*

Me: My parents know too and they don't want me living there any more.
Joseph: Holy Shit. What the fuck is really going on.
I heard Joseph's dad call him back inside with an angry tone in his voice.
Joseph: Bye Conner.
Me: Bye Joseph.

I went back home thinking that it was all talk and that they still love me no matter what and can never kick me out. I was wrong
Dad: GET THE FUCK OUT!
I quickly closed back the door and ran to the park. I called my sister cause she was the only on who really listened to me.
Sister:Hello

Me: Everyone hates me
Sister: Oh Conner, Mom and Dad told me, don't worry it will get better.
Me: No it won;t they told me to never come back.
Sister: wow they are really that mad ... Tell you what, come here, I'll let you stay here for a while.
Me: okay.

I got on the bus and went to my sisters house. Her boyfriend was home and surprisingly he was very supportive. He showed me to my room and sat on the bed next to me.
Leo(Sister's boyfriend): Look I know it sucks now but it does get better. you have to have faith Conner, not everyone one is against you. You have to understand that you will always have someone.
*All I Could've done was cry, I curled up in the bed and was ready to sleep*

Leo: Look, I can;t tell you that I know how it feels but I can tell you that I'm here and your sister is here too whenever you need us.
Me: I don;t want to go to school any more.
Leo: We're not going to force you to go, if you want to stay in this house for the rest of the school year and summer break then be my guest. And isn't your school like 45mins away anyways? yea you can just want until you start high school, then you can start over from there.
Me: Hey Leo? (ready to fall asleep)

Leo: yea?
Me: Thanks for being there for me.
I then fell asleep.

I woke up next morning to the smell of Eggs and Beacon. (My Favourite) I went to the kitchen and seen Leo cooking. Since My sister worked 10:00am - 6:00pm I never seen her unless for dinner.
Leo: So how you feeling?
Me: I feel .. Better
Leo: See, everything gets better, just got to give it time.

Me: yea ... So is this meal for me?
Leo: It was originally for me but if you want it, you can take it.
Me: You sure?
Leo: Yeah Its No Problem.

The Rest Of The Months Went Pretty Good. I Never Talked To My Mom Or Dad Or Even My Brother Since My Brother Outted Me But That's Okay. I Noticed That My Love Was Conditional With Them And I Don't Like Conditional Love. Joseph Moved Away To Another City With His Grandfather So I Never Talked To Him Since That Day Either. But Since Then My Life Has Been Moving Along Day By Day And Then Before I Knew It. It Was Time For High School.
