Fire in the Firehouse 20

(Part 1 from 2. Fiction.)

As they laughed and talked, the night began wearing on. It was about 7:15 in the evening by this point. They'd all had a few drinks and began getting to know one another. It wasn't too long after when the ground began to shake. At first they all thought it was because they'd had too much to drink. None of them had ever experienced an Earthquake, let alone such a powerful temblor. They began holding each other for moral and physical support. The ground was relentless. The shaking seeming to not want to stop. At first they laughed it off, not knowing the severity and the length it would go. It started out slowly and built up. Not since the day of the Loma Prieta Earthquake of 1989 had this region been so shaken.

Outside their place they could hear screams coming from women in the area, and some effeminate gay men. After all, San Francisco was synonymous for its gay population. The few manly high pitched screams lightened the humor on the inside of the place, but made it no less scary going through it. The place rocked and shook violently. People were running out into the streets screaming, yelling to one another. Brakes were heard screeching and whining to a halt. Foundations were coming down, things were a virtual mess all over.

Mitch and Colby glared at one another long enough to make a connection, looked out the window and saw fires breaking out all over. This time it seemed the fire was all around. No matter how hard they tried, they couldn't seem to escape this lifestyle....

Darkness set in and silence befell the open air. Things were not as they should be. What was once so familiar and present, had now fallen to the wayside. It seemed hauntingly weird. Where had this all come from? Suddenly there was new sounds and new voices. The silence and darkness were being pierced, but not by what should've been. Nothing made sense. What was commonplace was now seemingly gone. How? Why? Where?

A female voice was heard..."Sir, sir, wake up. Its almost time." Mitch felt the cool air in the room, at least he assumed it was such, snap him out of whatever state he'd been in. He looked around trying to get his senses. He couldn't put his finger on it. What was happening?

Mitch sat up and gazed at the environment around him. He was in a room. But what kind of room? He stammered about trying to wrap his mind around his environment. Things seemed void of life. Or, at least what he thought it should've been. What's going on he thought in the deepest recesses of his mind. Something's not right here. He paused. Why couldn't he remember what it was he searched for? Another female voice roused his mind.

"Mitch, baby. Its almost time." He stared hard trying to drink in what lay around him. Time for what he mused to himself. He stared harder. He was in a hospital, that much he was sure of. Things slowly started to make sense. He'd gotten hurt-yet again it seemed. But no. He'd be in bed and not this woman. As he concentrated he saw the woman lying on a table. She seemed ready to give birth. This was all more confusing than before. "Uhhh...," she cried. She was in labor. How could this be? None of what he thought should be around him was. No familiar faces, no familiar situations. Nothing. All gone.

In what seemed like what would be equivalent 2 hour movie, Mitch made his mind work harder, but was finding it hard to seek what made the most sense. Female. Labor. How? As he thought, Colby, Cory. Where? How? His lover Colby, his brother Cory, gone? Impossible. What was happening here? Were they gone? Or were they elsewhere?

The female called him again. "Wow, honey. The twins are coming like no tomorrow." He stood dumb founded. As he gazed upon the lovely creature he recognized her. Trish, his coworker and obviously so much more. The one that had wanted him so bad and had seemingly staked her claim. But he was gay, in love with Colby. Right? "Baby, you all right? Maybe you hit your head harder than we thought when you hoisted me out of the car coming in." Mitch felt the color drain from his face. The more things made sense, the more confused he was.

"I, uh, I need to lie down. I think you're right Trish. I don't feel so hot." He went over to the bed which he'd been occupying in the room and laid down. His mind moved faster than a racing comet. There were so many thoughts and ideas in his mind. He tried to gain control. He heard the nurse say the babies would be coming anytime. She was almost fully dilated. None of this life made any sense.

Trish called out, "We have some time baby. Just rest. See if it passes. Hopefully you're not concussed. I want you to film the birth darling. I want to see Colby and Cory the minute they're born." Those words sliced through him faster than a hot knife through butter. He was nauseous now. He leaned over and hurled his guts on the floor. A nurse raced over to him to tend to him. More and more it seemed like he'd sustained a concussion. His eyes were glazed over. The nurse called out that he needed to see a doctor. Mitch went into a dream state. He held on albeit slightly from passing out. His mind slowed, but still flooded with questions.

Mitch was soaking wet from sweating and a range of emotions. His life was not as it should be, the ones he loved, his lover, his family and so on-gone. He then glanced down when no one was looking; he had adjust himself. He felt the damp, sticky moisture. Having navy blue jeans on and a baggy shirt the spot was covered. Had he been living a dream?

The young man wanted to scream. This wasn't right. Where was his lover, his family? The other life. What was going on? The names Colby and Cory, his sons? Impossible. Those were the names of his gay lover and his gay brother respectively. Right?

The names, the wet spot. Had it all been a dream? Where was the life he knew? The firehouse in January. Marie and her demise in the mouth of a shark? Nick? How the hell could one dream an entire life? Everything he wanted seemed lost. His mind soared. He thought of Colby, or whom he thought he was. He tried thinking of Trish in a loving way and her female parts and it made him sicker. His mind was focused on penis and the entire anatomy of a male. Females had no effect on him. Right?

I'm going to be a new Dad, but yet I have no attraction to women...I think. He was spiraling out of control. The world he knew was gone. He was realizing he had some major issues come to be. His heart raced faster, his body wracked with sweat, his palms and bottoms of his feet drenched. He lay in a state of utter turmoil.

As he lay on the hospital bed he felt the cool sheets welcome his flushed body. He felt like this was the flu and began wishing it were that simple. The sheets helped to settle his stomach it seemed. The more he cooled off, the better he felt. He just needed to make sense of it all. But where does one start in a situation like this?

Time seemed to move slower than it should. Mitch tried so hard to rationalize why he'd imagine an entire life away from his wife. He was struggling to accept he'd imagined it all. But down deep he knew he was gay. This experience proved it. He searched his feelings deeply. He'd think of Trish naked and he stayed flaccid. He thought of this Colby image and his cock sprang to life. He'd deduced instantly he was into men and there was no denying this. In fact, he spied a heart throb of an orderly. He sat mesmerized as the young stud was there tending to his needs.

He leaned over to the young man and whispered. "I need to talk man. Is there like an exam room where we talk man to man?" The young orderly looked at the other quizzically. It made no sense. But he took pity on his plight having been through so much and about to become a new Daddy.

They headed off to an empty room where Mitch spilled his guts about everything as the other man listened intently. He asked the young man to get pics of the female body, displayed his cock for the guy to see and they saw nothing happen. Then he looked at the guy and shyly asked to see his cock. The man semi hesitantly agreed, but was trying to be a friend and help out. Soon as the man's dick was free, his swelled to its blessed girth. He watched as the other man's responded in earnest the same. The two exchanged glances.

The minutes in the room stood still. The young orderly who by now had introduced himself as Ty reached over and gently brushed Mitch's engorged prick. Shockwaves coursed their bodies. Both sighed heavily, yet softly as the energy took hold of their bodies. This energy was amazing, breath taking, too. Ty's cock began pouring out precum. It just oozed heavily to the floor until Ty brought it over to Mitch which he warmly invited into his mouth. Mitch's cock couldn't hold back from all this excitement and began to follow the lead and oozed a heavy load of precum, too. The two men felt so connected. It felt so right.

Mitch was struggling to put his wife out of his mind. He had to have this hot stud. They were so drawn to one another. Ty admitted to having been bi, but was favoring men now because they were better lovers in his eyes and the attraction he had to men was too overbearing to ignore. He admitted it'd been a while since he'd had any action with another man and that this is what he needed. It always felt so natural, so right. His mind was totally focused on the other hot stud.

Meanwhile, Mitch's mind was saturated with images of Colby. The man he'd fallen in love with. He was almost sickened to realize Colby existed only in his mind. The whole world he'd built with that man. It was purely his imagination. It gave him comfort to find something with Ty. Maybe he could build something with him. But there was so much he'd have to do. Divorce, child support. But that would come later. He needed this right now to prove to himself he wasn't straight or even bi.

He started to lose his erection as the reality of his life began impacting his mind. He forced those images out of his mind to concentrate on what was taking place in the here-and-now. It wasn't easy, but he got there. He felt awkward and wrong cheating on his wife while she brought two lives in the world, but this is who he was and he had to accept it. He'd convinced himself this was how it was to be.

It didn't take long before the two men were finishing off the other. The opted to swallow to insure as much evidence as possible was kept out of sight. It was bad enough the precum was all over. Ty spoke first after they were spent. "Man, that was fuckin awesome. After you get things straightened out, maybe we should get to know each other and ya know... Mitch had a lot of thinking to do, but knew it'd be foolish to pass this all up.

Mitch whispered, "That was amazing. But I need time bro. I mean everything I thought was real turned out to be some sort of lengthy and well detailed dream. But I can't shake it. There seems to be more to it." The young man understood. They leaned in simultaneously and shared a kiss, savoring the flavors of their mixed seed that remained heavily in the other's mouth. It was intoxicating to them, but they both knew to stop before it led to more. Mitch made a mental note to remember the smell of Ty's cum-drenched breath. He'd relive the experience in his mind for quite some time to come in his spare time jacking off.

The two men collected themselves and made their exit from the room they'd shared. Both men acted nonchalant and casual and went about their respective business. Mitch walked the halls trying to gather his mind together. He briefly stopped by the room Trish was in. She was disappointed, but she knew her husband was obviously going through a tough time and asked him not to be gone too long. She wondered what secrets he was hiding. She knew him well enough to know when something was too heavy on his mind. He rarely ever let things of this nature take control of him like this had.

Mitch walked all about the hospital. First he grabbed a soda and some chips from the vending machine as he was feeling slightly woozy. First place he passed after was the hospital chapel. He hesitated, but found an inner need to speak to God. His world he believed was real was gone and it seemed he'd never get it back. He could search all his life and never find what he had with Colby. The one thing that weighed so heavily on his mind was how could this all seem so real? His mind coursed and ran heavy with vivid details. How was it possible he imagined/dreamed an entire alternate life?

He glided across the floor, knelt down making the sign of the cross as a sign of respect. There was still his Wiccan half that was true, but he also had a deep spiritual sense in Christianity. He sat there deep in thought. The images of Colby haunted the deepest parts of his mind. He could almost smell his scent, taste his reality. He leaned forward, resting his head in his hands, his heart aching with emptiness. His mind played tricks on him. The more he tried to forget his experiences in this other world, the more lost and alone he felt. He wished he could lie down, wake up and it'd all be back to normal.

Slowly, as he allowed the experiences he'd assumed he'd lived come into his mind in an attempt to make it all make sense, his emotions began overwhelming him. Tears flowed down his face. He looked up seeing a crucifix. He began whispering, "Why, Father? What have I done wrong in my life? I can't believe I could imagine something so vivid and now its gone. I almost wish I were dead. How can I go on? My heart aches for something that never was. How? I mean I saw so much, went through so much too. Everything felt so real. How long was I out? I feel so cold Father. I'm so lost. How do I go on? Plus I realize I'm gay and to make matters worse, about to become a new Dad." His words ceased. His heart could take no more. He was trembling like a lost little boy all alone in a strange world.
