PART ONE:
Luke was a twenty year old black guy, studying for a law degree at the local University and he had been renting a room at my house for the past three months.

So that was how it was with the occasional get together on a weekend until on one particular night I was in work and a couple of the machines went down and with production stopped we were all sent home. I did wonder if I should ring Luke to say I was on my way home in case he was entertaining a girlfriend but in the end decided against it for some reason. As I let myself into the house I made a bit of noise by slamming the door behind me and I called upstairs to let Luke know that I was home.
