Trick

(Part 1 from 2. Fiction.)

“Another,” said Fox. He’d been waiting nearly ten minutes for the bartender to get to him. As always on a Saturday night, Mother’s was buzzing with activity from the vast dance floor right up to where he was standing taking in the view around him.

The bartender nodded and quickly returned with a beer. He slid the bottle towards Fox, and in a second was gone with money in hand for the brew. Fox turned and headed back towards the edge of the dance floor. He watched as men danced and gyrated with each other in various states of dress…or undress depending on the person. He stood on the sideline like a spectator at a sporting event as he eyed them. Being new to the scene, he’d yet to make friends. Some of the guys nodded at him, and smiled as they passed by him. He did the same in return.

“Coming through,” a voice called from behind him. Fox stepped aside as he felt a hand on the small of his back. “Excuse me,” said the voice again. The gentle touch lingered for a second, and then the guy slid by him slowly. Fox caught the guy’s scent, which lingered around him. Mandarin mixed with the exotic smell of coconut and pineapple. “Hey,” said the guy. He stopped, and stepped in front of Fox. “It’s dead busy up in here, isn’t it?”

Fox didn’t quite get the last part of what he’d said. “Huh?” He couldn’t help but be transfixed by the guy’s eyes, which were startling blue, and stark set against his pale skin and ice blond hair. He was at least five years younger than Fox. “I’m sorry, I can barely hear a thing above the music.”

“I said it’s busy tonight. Name’s Trick.”
“Fox,” he replied, extending his free hand.
“It’s Easter weekend, and I figured the place would be packed. I came with friends. What about you? Are you here with anyone?”

“I’m not.” Fox was sure that sounded down right pathetic, but this was all new for him. He wasn’t even out, and this was a side of him that he was still exploring. At twenty-five, he’d moved to the city to find his own way in the world and to attend college. Being from a small town he hadn’t had that opportunity before up to now. After he’d finished high school, he opted to stay around and work for his father in their family-run hardware store. The gay thing was always there in the back of his mind, though he did his best to not think about it. What was the point in thinking about something you couldn’t act on, right? The thing was that no matter how much he tried to supress his feelings they always came to light at some point.

“Then you can dance with me,” Trick replied. He smiled and reached for Fox’s hand. “And I won’t take no for an answer.”

Fox followed as Trick led him through the crowd until they found a spot. Trick moved in close to him and guided Fox’s hands to his hips before settling his own on Fox’s shoulders. They both moved in synch with the rhythm of the music pulsing throughout the bar. This was Fox’s first time dancing with another guy, and it was freeing and liberating. His heart pounded hard inside his chest as he felt Trick move even closer to him until they were pressed tight together.

Trick was shorter than him and smaller in build. He liked the size difference between them. Trick was his polar opposite not only in build, but also in style. Fox’s wardrobe consisted of basic t-shirts and jeans. That’s what he’d worn to the bar tonight, but Trick had a style all his own. This was a guy who wasn’t afraid to be out. From his skin tight black jeans to his punk style t-shirt and glitter…Yup, Trick was aglow with the stuff and eyeliner, this was the first guy he’d ever seen wear it. Guys like this didn’t exist back home.

Trick noticed Fox from a distance first. He knew many of the regulars who came to the bar, so anyone with a new face immediately grabbed his attention. He’d been drawn to Fox, and it wasn’t like him to approach a guy. Trick certainly wasn’t a wallflower by any stretch of the imagination, but his nerve only carried him so far. He lacked self-confidence. Throughout high school he’d been bullied for being a fag. That word…was one of many that had been tossed at him by his tormenters. Back then, he thought that being gay was something one should be ashamed of. He always denied his liking for other guys, but getting away from all that…running away from it, he managed to find friends who were like him and accepting. But still, a little piece of him from the bad years still lingered inside of him.

Those days were over now and he tried not to think about the past and what brought him to where he was today. But there was no way around it. The past…his past was what molded him into the person he’d become. He was successful, an artist whose paintings sold for a lot of money. That in itself was hard to believe. People actually paid for his work. What was once a passing interest in abstract and self-expression had turned into something very real. It was something that Trick was proud of. If only his family saw him that way. But they didn’t. They believed that being gay was a choice and that Trick was destined to burn in hell for eternity for his ‘chosen lifestyle’ as they called it.

Trick rested his head against Fox’s shoulder. Fox was everything he thought perfect in a man. Fox was his ideal in every way from his athletic physique to the way he revealed two cute dimples, one embedded in each cheek when he smiled. This happened right at the moment when he looked up at Fox. For a second everyone and everything around them stood still. It didn’t really, but it darned well felt like it. Their gaze held just as tight as Fox’s grip on Trick’s hips.

The chemistry between them was instant and undeniable and something that Trick hadn’t experienced before. It felt strange and wonderful at the same time, but most of all it surprised the hell out of him. With most guys it was merely physical. This was possibly the case here with Fox. They didn’t know anything about each other. That would have to be worked on. “What would you say if I asked you to come home with me?” Trick asked.

“I’d say yes,” Fox replied. “What do you have in mind?” His words warmed Trick’s earlobe as he spoke slowly. His words implied something naughty with their overtly suggestive tone.

“It’s hard getting to know anyone here in this place. I think in a more,” Trick hesitated. “Intimate setting, it would allow us to talk.” Fooling around as well certainly wasn’t too far out of his mind. It would be a lie if he said that Fox didn’t turn him on. Fox had that straight guy appeal about him. On the outside he looked unattainable much like the guys that Trick had lusted over during his years of hell in high school.

Fox nodded. “That sounds good to me. Do you live far from here?”
“Not far. We can walk.”

Fox’s night turned out to be way more interesting than he had anticipated. Walking alongside Trick, he felt a warm fuzzy feeling reel through his stomach. It wasn’t from the beer he’d drunk because he’d only had a couple. This was a pleasant feeling and glancing at Trick, he couldn’t help but smile. The younger guy had this carefree nature surrounding him. It wasn’t just his looks that portrayed that, it was everything about him. From his somewhat feminine mannerisms to the way he lit up whenever he spoke, it was refreshing and new.
“My apartment is up ahead,” Trick explained. “I’ll warn you that it’s nothing spectacular, but I call it home.” He flashed Fox a goofy grin. “Much like my paintings, my life is a work in progress.”

“You’re an artist?”
“I guess I am. I do pretty well with it, but I’ve yet to hit the big time.”

Three flights of stairs and they were at the door to Trick’s apartment. Trick unlocked the deadbolt with a click and stepped aside. “Go on inside,” he said. “I’ll get us a couple of beers while you make your handsome self comfortable.”

Fox felt his cheeks grow hot hearing Trick flirt with him. This was still new to him and hearing this come from another guy was still a tad strange. He walked through a short hallway and found himself standing in a somewhat small open space that looked to be the rest of the apartment except for the kitchen and bathroom. The rough brick walls were covered with paintings, abstracts that were both colorful and dazzling to the eyes. He walked across the room to one that caught his attention more than the others. They were all great, but there was something about this one that stood out to him.

At first the swirl of the various colors of paints seemed to melt together into nothing special, but then there was an image of two men together. How did Trick manage that? Fox felt his lips curl into a grin and when he felt a hand resting on his shoulder, he turned to see Trick standing there holding out a beer for him. “That’s my favorite,” Trick said. “Tell me what you think.”
“I’m not much of a connoisseur of art, but this is good. I like the way that it tricks the eye.” Fox laughed as he said the work trick.

“I call it, Lovers in Vogue. True love was my inspiration for it. It’s not something that I have personally experienced so it’s what I imagine that it would be like to find that perfect someone who fits my other half.”
“Like the concept of soul mates,” Fox added. He looked at the painting again. “I get it. I really do. That feeling is there on that canvas. What you’ve managed to do with paint is amazing.”
“It intrigues me to think that there’s someone out there for everyone. I’m sure many think that very idea is total rubbish, but I’m a true romantic at heart.”

“There’s nothing wrong with that. I’ve never been in love. I’m not even that out,” Fox admitted, feeling a little embarrassed at being partially in the closet.
“I’m all the way out as you can see,” Trick replied. He raised one brow and motioned to the couch not far from them. “Let’s sit.”

“It’s not been easy. I totally admire people who can outright be honest about who they are,” Fox said. “I wish I had that inside of me to just be who I am and not worry about what others think or how they will judge me.”
Trick sat next to him and placed a hand on Fox’s thigh. “Coming out is a very personal thing. There is no right way to do it. I don’t think I was ever in the closet. In high school, I denied it when the assholes would harass and bully me, calling me faggot and queer. That was for survival, though I don’t think they bought it. This is me and there’s no hiding it.”

Fox sat back on the couch and looked down at the beer he held. “I like what I see so far,” he muttered. “You’re pretty darned cute.”
“I noticed you right away tonight and I’m glad that you decided to come here with me.” Trick took the beer from Fox’s hand and set it down on the coffee table. He moved closer to Fox until their sides touched. “This is where we kiss.”

Trick’s lips felt soft as they touched his. Fox opened his mouth and Trick’s tongue entered to touch his. He reached up and caressed Trick’s cheek as their kiss grew more intense and passionate. A spark between them lit and the heat searing through his crotch was a testament to it. In an instant, Fox’s cock grew hard and he shifted slightly as Trick crawled on top of him, straddling him.

“I like being on top,” Trick murmured, breaking their kiss. He leaned down and kissed Fox again. Trick then reached down farther and pulled up Fox’s t-shirt. “This has to come off,” he said. “I bet you have a fantastic chest.”
“I played sports back in school and I work out when I can.” Fox was entranced with the image of Trick undressing him. He watched as Trick pulled off his t-shirt and moaned a little when Trick tweaked his nipples lightly. “Fuck,” he said. “That feels different.”
“You are so hot,” Trick said. “And just as I suspected, you’re built in all the right places.” He ground his ass against Fox’s crotch. “Nice.”

Trick ran his hands across Fox’s firm chest and inhaled deeply as he felt the hard muscle yield beneath his touch. Contrary to what others might have thought of him, he didn’t do stuff like this often and this was totally out of character for him. Sure, he loved sex without a doubt, but he was also a stickler of staying safe and these days a guy couldn’t be too careful.

“I think we need to take this to my bed,” Trick suggested as he massaged Fox’s midsection. Fox had a total six pack that must have taken hard work to develop and define. He crawled off Fox and stood up. Trick reached for Fox’s hand and he led his soon-to-be lover to his bed. The apartment was open concept and except for the kitchen and bathroom, everything was combined into one living area. “It’s cliché of me to ask, but what are you into?”
“That’s the first time I have ever been asked that question and for good reason.” Fox sat on the edge of the bed. “This is new to me and I haven’t done much. So, I don’t know how to answer you.”
“Are you telling me that you’re a virgin?” Trick asked. Was this guy for real?

“I’m telling you that I’m inexperienced.” Fox blushed and turned his head away from Trick.
“Not even with a woman?”
“No,” Fox replied. “I know I sure as hell wouldn’t be able to do that. I’ve never bothered to even try.”

Trick pulled off his shirt and tossed it on the floor beside him. He popped the fly on his jeans and shoved them down to his ankles before stepping out of them. He grinned as he looked down at his briefs. “What do you think?” He spun around and then moved in on Fox.
“Where did you get those?” Fox asked.
“From a specialty underwear site online. I thought they were festive and appropriate for the holiday.” From the moment he saw them, Trick knew he had to have them. They were pastel pink and covered with Easter eggs of every color imaginable.
“They look great on you…I mean they show off your assets.”

“Which are?” Trick questioned, his voice coy and full of naughtiness.
“I think you have a great butt,” Fox admitted.
“Saying the right things will get you everything,” Trick teased. He dropped to his knees and found his place between Fox’s legs. He pressed his face into Fox’s bulge and felt the man’s hard cock straining for freedom against his cheek.
“Fuck,” Fox exclaimed. “You’re going to drive me wild.”

“That’s the plan, sexy.” Trick would make this a night that Fox would never forget.

Fox lifted his hips and allowed Trick to pull off his jeans and underwear. His cock popped free and after Trick had him stripped, he grabbed Fox’s dick and jacked it slowly. He shuddered as Trick thumbed his cockhead, rubbing pre-cum across the tip.
“Feel good, eh?” Trick said, doing it again and again.
“That’s,” Fox hesitated. “Amazing.” He let out a deep breath and inhaled, fighting to keep control of the situation.
“This is only the beginning.” With that, Trick took Fox’s cock into his mouth. He jumped a little and looked down to see Trick’s lips stretched around his shaft. Trick looked up at him. Between them passed feelings that could not be spoken. They locked eyes as Trick worked his dick up and down, running his tongue the full length of Fox’s cock.
