Unexpected Love: Part 2

(Part 1 from 1. Fiction.)

***Sorry for lack of sex, but I wanted this part to just focus on love -Alex***

I woke up feeling a little confused. I lifted my head and looked around. I was in my room, lying on my bed. But my bed was kinda... hard. I looked down and saw Kevin sleeping beneath me.

The memories of last night came rushing back: Chili's, Kevin driving me home, the birthday card, and the sex. I chuckled to myself. It was all so spontaneous.

Then I remembered my mother. She was going to wake me up at 9:00 so I coud go to work. I checked the clock.

8:58!

I jumped out of bed and threw on some pajama pants and a T-shirt. I woke Kevin up frantically. He looked at me, dazed, and said, "What?"

"Kevin, my mom's going to be in here any second! You need to get dressed!"

He leaned up and kissed me. "No thanks."

That took me a little bit by surprise. "What do you mean? You need to get dressed! If my mom sees you here naked in my bed, what will she think?"

"She knows you're gay, right?"

I nodded. "Yeah, everyone does."

"So she'll have no problem with it if she really loves you."

"But Kevin --" I was cut off by the door opening. My mom poked her head through the door. She looked at Kevin, looked at me, and then said, "I see you're already up. Get ready. You need to be at work by 10:00." And with that, she closed the door.

"See, babe?" Kevin said happily. "She's okay with it."

"Yeah." I said surprised. Then I processed what Kevin had said. "Wait.. did you just call me babe?"

"Yeah. So what?"

"But..."

"You know, since we just had sex and we really like each other, I think it's safe to say that we're together now."

I was speechless; partially because he was right, and partially because I couldn't believe he was saying that. It made me really, really happy.

"Well... 'babe'... I've gotta go to work." I said as I sat down next to him.

He sat up and put his arms around me. "Do you have to?"

"Yes!" I said. "And I need you to drive me, because my car is still at Chili's, remember?"

He smiled. "Oh yeah." He got out of bed, opened my drawer, and threw on a pair of my boxers. "Yeah, I'll drive you."

"Those are my boxers, Kevin."

"I know."

"So why are you wearing them?"

He shrugged and smiled. "Mine are a bit soiled."

I laughed. "Okay, well, I gotta get a shower and then you can drive me to work, okay?"

"Okay." He watched me strip off my clothes to go get in the shower with a pleased smile. "Can I shower with you?"

"Kevin, I love you, but I have my limits, okay?"

"So that's a no?"

"Yes."

"I can shower with you?"

"No!"

"But you just said..."

I held up my hand, signaling him to stop. I got up and left the room, headed for the bathroom. I turned on the water and stepped into the shower. Everything was happening so fast. I honestly didn't know how I'd be able to handle all this. I mean, like I said, I knew his entire family. One of his brothers, Sean, was in my grade and a close personal friend of mine.

As I dried myself off, I started to think of how I could fix this. I had a knack for coming up with the perfect plan to fix any problem. Usually, if my friends had a problem, I had a primary plan and several backup plans at the ready.

As I was thinking, it occured to me: I didn't want to fix this. For better or for worse, this was meant to happen. I just had to play it out smoothly and go with the flow.

I went back to my room and found that Kevin had put on his clothes from the day before. I smiled as he looked over my body a little bit hungrily. "Are you sure we can't waste a little bit of time with an encore performance?" he whined.

"I'm sorry Kevin, but I've got to get to work. It starts at 10:00, it's a 10 minute drive from here, and it's 9:45 now." I said as I hesitantly pulled on a shirt. "We could kill 5 minutes with a quickie if you want."

"Nah. It'd be too quick."

"That's the point of a quickie, Kevin."

He laughed. "Yeah, well, I'd like our... sessions to last a little bit longer, you know?"

"Yeah. I do." I walked over to him and kissed him passionately for about a minute before pulling away so I could put on some pants.

Kevin had dropped me off at the T.G.I. Friday's 10 minutes from my house. I was a waiter there, which you couldn't think I could do from naturally pessimistic nature, since waiters and waitresses have to happy and perky. But I can be 100% optimistic when I need to be, and for this job, I needed to be. I usually got great tips.

It was a good day; I made 50 dollars in tips. I'd gotten 15, which was way more than I should've gotten from anyone, from a group of girls who had stopped by for lunch. The way they were giggling the whole time and attempting to flirt with me, I'd say they had a crush on me.

When my shift ended, Kevin came and picked me up. We drove to Chili's and got my car. Then, we headed off to the school for closing night, and Kevin's final play as a student.

As I walked into the gym, I spotted Katie, my absolute best friend in the whole entire world. She was with Meredith, a friend of hers that didn't go to our school. Meredith had a massive, obvious crush on me. But it could never be; after all, she was straight.

I walked over to Katie and Meredith. Katie waved and walked closer while Meredith stammered something and stumbled after her.

"Hey, Katie!" I said as I hugged her.

"Hi!" She pulled away. "So... are the rumors true?" she said with a sly smile.

"What rumors?"

Meredith butted in. "The rumors that you slept with Kevin last night!"

That seriously blew me away.

"How does anybody know about that?"

Katie gasped. "So it's true?"

"Yes, okay? But, seriously, how does everybody know about that?"

"Well, everyone saw you leave with Kevin last night, and you came with him just now," she said. "It's only natural that some people would assume that."

"Rumors spread that quickly?"

Meredith sighed. "Alex, it's high school. Rumors fly around like mosquitos around a bug zapper."

I sighed and shook my head. "Whatever." And with that, I walked away and went back to the locker room. When I got there, I had to face tons of teasing and wolf whistles from the rest of the guys. The more homophobic ones shunned me, of course, but I didn't really care.

By the time Intermission rolled around, I went and found Kevin. He smiled half-heartedly when he saw me. "Hey."

"Hi. Has everyone been pestering you, too?"

"Mm-hmm."He gave me a quick peck on the cheek. "But I don't really care. Know why?"

I smiled. "Why?"

"Cause I'm with you, and that's all that matters."

He hugged me, and I hugged him back tightly. As I stood there, enjoying being in his embrace, something struck me. I pulled away and said, "What about Diane?"

Diane was Kevin's girlfriend. Up until now, I had completely forgotten about her. I felt terrible; I'd stolen her boyfriend right out from under her nose in one night, and she hadn't even had time to react.

Kevin turned away. "I was hoping we could avoid this."

"Kevin, we can't avoid this. This is your girlfriend! You have to tell her that you're gay!" Then it hit me. "You are gay, right?"

"I don't know what I am, okay?" Kevin practically yelled. He paced around for a few seconds, then said, "I broke up with her today, while you were at work."

"What did you tell her?"

"I told her that I met a guy. She hung up on me." Kevin said as he sat down on the bleachers.

I sat down next to him. "I'm sorry she didn't understand."

"It's okay." He kissed me and jumped off of the bleachers. "Well, I gotta get backstage. I'll see you after the play."

"Bye," I said as he jogged off.

The final act went smoothly and amazingly. Nate made a really inspiring speech about friendship and how the seniors would never be forgotten. Then he gave out Phantom of the Opera hats to each senior (including Kevin), and finally, as is tradition, we all had a dance party on the stage. This year, the song was "We Are Young" by Fun. Honestly, I don't think they could've chosen a better song.

As I was dancing, Kevin came up wearing his hat. He took it off and put it on my head. We both smiled as we looked into each others' eyes. It broke my heart to know that he was leaving this year. Oh, well. If there was ever a time to live my motto, "Live in the present", it was now.

He leaned in and kissed me passionately. I kissed him back with equal passion. I was vaguely aware of a few people cheering around us, but right now, all that mattered was me and Kevin.

There was nobody else in the world.

***Again, if you're one of those people who likes stories with sex in them, I apologize for lack of it in this one. PART 3 COMING SOON!!!!*
