I was in shock I turned round to face TJ but he had already sprinted upstairs. "Tyler get the fuck up!" I heard him yell from upstairs. Kai! I shot upstairs and pratically leaped on top of him. "Eddie...what the fuck..." he mumbled rolling over on to his front. "Kai get the fuck up now!" I screamed. His eyes shot open and he sniffed the air. "Fuck!" I heard him yell as he ran over to the door.

"Kai where the fuck are you!" TJ shouted from downstairs. The floor I was standing on seemed extremely heated and my heart was hammering inside my chest. "Guys try and get out, please!" Kai yelled back to him and we heard nothing more from them. I heard a car engine outside and I ran to the window. I looked out and watched the car I had seen down the road when we were on our way to the cottage pull out of the drive way and tear down the road. I just bursted into tears when I saw the dirty car drive off. I felt Kai grab me and he pulled me out the bedroom. I looked into TJ and Tyler's room, where the floor had already fallen down and the bed was lit with dancing flames. I was lucky Kai was there with me, otherwise I would of just froze in shock and screamed at the scene infront of me. He dragged me down the stairs and into the living room which was all set alight. There was a massive hole in the ceiling and more of it fell as the flames ran up the walls and ate up what was left of TJ and Tyler's belongings. I cried harder as I realised the way to the front door was blocked by fire, fire and more fire. Quick as a flash we were away, Kai dragged me through the already flaming front room and into the kitchen which had already started burning.

Kai yanked on the handle of the heavy kitchen door which lead to the back garden. "Fuck I left the key in the living room!" he screamed, and I noticed tears were spilling down his face now. "Stay here" he mouthed at me and was about to run back into the burning front room when the cieling above us fell. I just heard a loud crash as wood and other things fell to the floor around us. Kai dived on me and shielded me with his body. We were forced into a corner of the room against the kitchen sink. I heard shouting from outside and realised it was TJ and Tyler calling for us. "Kai, Eddie! Where are you!" I heard Tyler sob, I was so frightend I thought my heart was going to stop beating. "Guys, just fucking shout or something, i'll smash one of the windows closest to where you are so you can get out!" TJ yelled. I tried to scream, we both did, but our lungs were clogged with thick black smoke that it was impossible for us to yell. A tiny squeek came out. I cuddled into Kai, "I can't breath..." I sobbed. I looked down and noticed he had quite a few burns on his arms and legs. Kai wasn't looking up me, he was looking above the sink at a window. The frame had caved in so there was a only a tiny gap that lead to the outdoors. I felt Kai starting to lift me up, "Eddie, I can't fit through there but you can" he groaned, choking on the smoke. I screamed and fought against him, "There's no fucking way i'm leaving you!" I screached, kicking my legs out, but he was far too strong for me to battle him. As my head was out in the fresh air I coughed and spluttered. I screamed again, properly this time and TJ and Tyler were able to hear me.

They ran round and tried to pull me out the window but I pushed them away. "Kai! Don't leave me!" I screamed. I felt his hands let go of my legs as TJ and Tyler pulled me further out the house. I watched Kai pick up some sort of metal pole which must of been part of the house. I kept watching and saw the faint outline of him trying to force his way through some of the fallen items to find another way out for himself. The fire engine arrive and the men went straight to work with hosing down the burning house. I just couldn't stop screaming. My head was spinning and I choked as the soot coated my lungs. My toes stung from the burns on my feet. But all I could think of was Kai. Was he alright? Was he dead? In my mind I could hear his screams of pain, but deep down I knew they weren't real. It was all too much, the world went black and I fell to the floor with a thud. After that there was nothing but silence...
