"Thorn your gonna be late for high school." my mom said nocking on my bathroom door. i put on my black lipstick then opened the door. "Do you have to dress like that every day?" she asked with a angry tone in her voice it was the conversation we had 1000 times over, i chose to just walk past her go to my room and not talk back.

when i entered my room my little sister was sitting on one of my boxes holding one of my Poppy Z. Brite books "Lost Souls." "whats it about"? she asked. "If I told you you would have nightmares." i said grabing my book and pushing her out of my room. "ok now how about that green out fit i got you?" my mom asked going into my closet and pulling the evil thing out. "EWWW" i said rowling my eyes. "You know you might make new friends if you didnt try so hard to be different." my mom said again in that tone of voice. "I LIKED MY OLD FRIENDS!" i said yelling back. "Hunny i know its hard being droped into a new school and the move and everything but give it time and it will get better." my mom said with a careing motherlike tine this time. "yeah right" i said and walked out. "Tommy" my mom called after me.

as i walked through the halls of the school bilding i felt so different in my black makeup, black hair with blue streeks in it, trench coat, black clothing, goth jewlery, and black platform demonia boots i felt like more of an outsider then i ever had in my life. students eather stared at me ignored my presence or bumped into me i fill so alone i went to the office and got the list of my classes. just as i was talking to the secrotery a guy walked in he didnt notice me he was cute blond hair blue eyes, he was wearing school colors and he had a foot ball in his hand. He was a jock. i herd one of the other jocks call his name "Travis". they joked around and then he looked at me, him and his friend started walking my way i was so nervis i droped my book and then he walked right past me great i fill stupid.

at lunch i got my food and sat down by my self. i could hear the cheerleaders talking about some dance tomorrow here at school for halloween, i would never go to a dance in my life. i started reading and then i herd a thud on the oposite side of my table, i looked up shocked to see Travis and his jock friend sitting opposite of me they were eating and talking about the dance. Then Travis turned and spoke to me " whatch ya readin." he said. "The Raven by Edgar Allan Poe"i ancered. He looked at me with a face full of stupidety. "O cool, dont i know you from some where?" he asked. "My name is Thorn i sit right behind you in english class." i ancered. "cool."

he said and started asking my questions about the book. Just then the cheerleaders walked over " Why are you like talking to this like total reject?" one of them asked then gave me a dirty look "their talking about some book or something" his friend said "o poor baby is this freak bothering you" another cheer leader said. i stood up to leave when another cheerleader spilled her vanella milk shake on my shirt. The entire lunch room was laughing at me i tryed to wipe it off but then one of the jocks said that looks way better . i ran out of the lunchroom in Humiliation.

I went home went straight to my room put on evanescence and layed in my casket and started crying i replayed the events of the lunch room over and over again in my head and Travis kept poping into my mind Travis would most likely never speak to me again. just then my sister walked into my room showing me her snow white costume for halloween "Tommy Tommy look what i got im Snow White Im Really snow White?" she said jumping for joy. "Get out" i yelled and pushed her out of my room. then my mom walked in." How was your first day of school" she asked "IT SUCKED." i yelled. "Whats wrong." she asked and i slamed the door in her face and locked it.
