Once we were upsrairs, Quophi’s phone rang, and it was Mr. Atati on the phone. He wanted Quophi to prepaid a quick lunch, because we would be going to a government function. So I went to kitchen with him, and offered to help anyway I could. He said fine if you want to, so I followed his instructions, and he had a nice lunch ready in no time. He let Mr. Atati know that lunch was ready, so he hurried upstairs for lunch.

Mr. Atati looked at me, and said he was glad I was there. Quophi told Mr. Atati that I had helped him prepaare lunch. Mr. Atati thanked me, and said he appreciated my helping. We sat down at the kitchen table, and enjoyed our lunch. While eating, Mr. Atati informed me I would be accompaning him to the function. He said he would be dressing me for the evening.

After the lunch, I accompanied Mr. Atati downstairs to his store. He had me strip down to my shorts, then he had me start trying thing on. I ask if it was formal, and would I be wearing a tuxedo. He said no, that he wanted me dressed casual formal. He said people would be there dressed in suits and ties, and some would be in native dress. He said there might be a few in a tuxedos but he wanted me to be different.

I tried on quite a few differen outfits, until Mr. Atati decided on the one he liked. I would be weearing; black form fitting slacks, a clinging open collar pink shirt, and a form fitting light blue jacket. We took the outfit upstairs, along with black socks and black shoes. Quophi was going too, but he would be wearing what he chose, and that was a nice black suit.

When we arrived at the function, Mr. Atati was right, there were people there wearing all kinds of different dress. I have to admit, there was no one there wearing anything like what I was wearing. When I walked in with Mr. Atati, all eyes were on us, and I’m not sure what was the main reason,

Were the people looking at Mr. Atati and me together, or were they looking at me, or the outfit I had on. We circulated, while Mr. Atati introduced me to many of the guest. We would stand around and talk, while enjoying the refreshments. I was ask a lot of questions, about my stay in Ghana. Seemed everyone wanted to know what I thought about the country.

I had a few of the younger men interested in my clothes, and I always told them the clothes came from Mr. Atati’s store. I did draw some attention from the ladies, and experienced some flirting from a few. I had a couple of men, who were a little over friendly. I think that was because I was with Mr. Atati, and they thought I might be gay.

The function was finally coming to an end, and it was after one o’clock in the morning. So we left the building and walked to the car. On the way home, Mr. Atati ask me what I though about our evening out? I told him I enjoyed myself, and met many interesting people. I then told him, that a number of the younger men ask about the clothes I had on. I told him everytime someone ask about the clothes, I told them the clothes came from your store. He thanked me.

When we arrived home, I accompanied Mr. Atati upstairs, while Quophi put the car in the garage. We bid each other Goodnight, and went to our apartments. I went inside, and changed into my lounging shorts, and hung my outfit up in the closet. I went to the kitchenette and got a soft drink and sat in the lounge chair. After I finished my drink, I got ready for bed, took off my lounge shorts and crawled in bed.
