Darkmancer Chapter 15

(Part 1 from 1. Fiction.)

I entered the room to see that all the people that I had requested had already arrived. There were five people wearing the symbol of House Avarie, obviously the windmancers that I had requested. As well as the usual ten pyromancers from House Ignatius, who were members of the craft hall teams. There were ten people with the symbol of House Axoxis, apparently they were the hydrokinetics I had requested. And finally there were ten people with the symbol of House Gresham, the five transmuters and five geomancers I had requested. With all the groups as well as the standard craft hall teams I could start work on the ship I wanted built.

“Well I’m sorry I was a bit late, I was collecting an new member, sorry”
Herman Goetz, who was in charge of the craft hall, replied
“Well, sir what is it that you need us for”
“Well, Mister Goetz, as you well know I am going to have to meet with the ambassador from the council of Gnosha, well as we are in the air, there will be some difficulty for him reaching the citadel. So I have devised a new vessel for us a Lev ship”
“What’s a Lev ship”

“Well the rock of the citadel is Lev’stone so I intend on using lumps of the rock to build a ship around, the stone can be manipulated to rise or fall, and with a few modifications it will be used to move in any direction. So to build the ship I will need your help, which is why you have all been summoned. Each of you have powers over one of the elements, the ship will require an influx of all your powers to work, however, before this I must have the ship built. So its time to begin. Firstly, I will need the geomancers to come with me and create the new hanger for this ship. After all there no point having this ship and it not been able to leave this room”

I connected the geomancers to me with dark filaments and channelled their collective power through me, I went back into the corridor and on the opposite side of the corridor from the drill hall opened another doorway. I then began the slow and arduous task of crafting the new hall. Disconnecting two lumps of raw Lev’stone and leaving them in the middle of the new hanger. Once the main room was done the last task was to open the doors, I used the powers to remove the thin wall, as the stone melted away there was a slight sucking as the air pressure levelled off. I then made a new set of hanger doors out of the stone, as well as the mechanisms to open the doors. I transmuted the material into steel, and finished off the door into the corridor into black granite. With the basic room done I went with the now exhausted geomancers into the craft hall. Although it had taken almost half an hour to make the new hanger room, the others were still shocked to see me return so fast from the task, the geomancers sat down in the corner.

“Now, please when I request more metal throw it onto the magickal shell”
“What Shell?”
“Sorry, I need to explain, I will form a shell for the new ship out of dark filaments, you must simply keep placing metal into the dark energy and I will do the rest, now all of you be ready.”

I began releasing millions of small fibres of pure Darkmantic energy, the wove into the form I had in my mind for the new vessel, the first of the pieces of metal were added, as soon as the metal touched the dark filaments it melted and began to reform into the very structure, the people began to throw more and more metal onto the dark energy web I had created. Slowly the ship began to form, the skeleton of the vessel first, then the essential areas, such as the pipes and wires as well as the engines, adding the organs to the bones, slowly the inside of the ship began to grow as the metal was added on, placing the muscles to the body. All that was left was the outer hull, the steel kept coming, not the metal began to flow much faster as Wes began to use his telekinetic powers to send large chunks of metal into the decreasing Darkmantic energy. Soon the outer skin was complete; all that was left was the large gaping holes that would be filled by the lumps of Lev’stone. I opened a dark portal and a lump of Lev’stone dropped onto the floor of the craft hall, I didn’t even need to open my mouth to order Wes, as he picked up the stone mentally and floated it over so I touched the dark filament reaching for it. As the rock touched the filament, it seemed to turn to flowstone and melt into place, filling the bracers at each side of the vessel. I opened another portal and the next rock fell through, the second bracer was filled and all the systems connected together. The ship was complete. I disconnected from the completed ship and nearly fell, I had used a lot of power, and had drained, not my power but my body. Wes caught me in time and used his considerable muscles to keep me upright

“Rig-Right now elementals follow me, I need you now”

we went to the back of the ship and Wes opened the door and dropped the ramp telekinetically, we walked up into the large chamber, I told Wes where to take me through a corridor and down some stair to the engine, a large metal container with a lump of obsidian, transmuted from the metal, to power the ship. I took the blade from Wes’s belt and stood up, having regained some of my strength. I took the blade and called the first one up to me; I nicked his finger and dripped a single bead of blood onto the crystal. As it absorbed the blood, a strange glow began to well up inside the crystal. I nicked the next and dripped his blood onto the crystal, the glow intensified. When I had completed the ritual and nicked everyone’s finger, including my own the glow was so intense that everyone was either squinting or covering their eyes. We walked out of the engine room and I went to the bridge, followed by the elementals. I took the captains seat, using a lot of my power I opened a huge portal underneath the ship it dropped through and was transported into the hanger.

I ordered Wes to open the doors which he did from the co-pilots seat, without even looking I grabbed the control with my right hand and pushed it slightly forward, the ship glided forward, the Lev’stone orbs had been activated, I flicked a switch and the doors and ramp closed and the ship was underway. I went through the doors and pushed the control stick forward increasing the speed; using the wheel in front of me I turned it, turning the ship as well.

“Strap into one of the seats please gentlemen, I'm going to put this beauty through her paces”

I waited until all the people had strapped into their seats and with a simple gesture, my belt moved forward and locked around me. I pushed the controls to maximum, there was a slight lurch as the ship went to full power, I knew without even looking that the Lev’stone orbs had begun to glow as they reacted to the energy running through them. I pushed the left peddle and the ship began to rise into the sky, coming level with the top of the wall, I continued to allow it to climb, then flew over the school. Slowing down as I saw the drake riders. They jumped into the air and flew at the ship, when they realised what it was they flanked us, two at each side, I increased the speed and the drakes were keeping up, I saw them put the air masks on. I pushed us up through the cloud level, the drakes managed to match the speed, with a spin of the wheel, and pushing the right peddle to the floor I began a steep dive, the drakes furled their wings in and matched the dive. We dived past the citadel and down the rock pillar underneath. Down towards the chasm where the school had risen from the rock, already it had begun to fill with water, as the water table began to adjust to the new open space, water had rushed in to fill it to the water level.

I brought the ship to a floating standstill just above the water level, the drakes flapped to hover in line with us. I then activated a full up thrust and went higher into the air, back towards the citadel. As I neared the hanger doors, the drakes flew back towards the top of the citadel to continue their training, with a small wave from Corry they were away.

“Wes please will you open the doors of the hanger”
“Yes, Sam”

With a wave of his hands, his eyes pulsed and glowed brighter, as he used his power, the doors cranked open and I moved the ship slowly through and into the hanger. The doors began to close behind us, when I had got us hovering in the middle of the hanger, I flicked a switch and the landing gear extended and I lowered the power going to the Lev’stone the hovering effect weakened and we softly landed on the hanger bay floor.

“Now, what did you think of that then?”
Herman jumped up from his seat

“That was amazing, if you could make us a specification of the ship, well we could build a fleet. Of course we would need to have a much larger hanger made; ad there would need to be crews for the ship. But, with enough time we could have create other ships from this specification.”

I held my hand up an open my fingers, there was puff of black smoke and when the smoke cleared in my hand was a scroll.
“Well Mr Goetz here are the specifications you wanted”

Herman grabbed them from my hand, and with a slight bow ran to the back of the ship. He opened the door and walked down the gangway into the hanger, and out into the corridor, the other mages followed more orderly then Goetz had done. I waited and looked round to Wes who was still sat next to me.

“So did you have fun?”
“This ship is amazing, but I still wonder why you had it built?”
“To pick up the ambassador, it will shock him to see the ship and the view that he sees when he comes up and see the citadel will make him see my power.”
“I knew there was another reason”

“Wes, there is always another reason to everything I do, I'm not as whimsical as I appear, I always have an agenda, apart from when it comes to sex or Tom, only Tom is what I do with no other agenda, and that’s because I love him more then I love anything else”

I opened a dark portal in the doorway of the ship, Wes walked through and I followed behind, looking at his muscular arse until he walked through the portal. Tom and I would have fun with him later that night.
