Blind

(Part 1 from 1. Fiction.)

***FICTIONAL STORY***

Seattle is known its seasonal depression. Everyone thinks its the rain, but its so much more. Its also the vast, cold lake that constantly laps at our feet. And the endless forests that surrounds us. Even some policemen here have dubbed Seattle "suicide city". And out of hundreds of thousands of people here, the depression has infected ME the most! My name is Sean Vaille, Im 19 years of age, totally hate my life (NOT emo though), 5 ft 9 in, have an athletic body (but not very muscular), have black short hair and grey eyes, and I attend the university here.

Oh, and I assume you're wondering why I dont particularly enjoy the "sad and depressing" life I live. Its my family. My parents (still married, even though they despise each other, and they're NOT alcoholics) totally hate my guts, even though I'm their blood. They tell me how big of a peice of shit I am every day of my life, even on birthdays and other holidays. They tell me that my younger sister and two older brothers will do better in life than I will.

Anyway, one day, like so many others, or should I say night, I was outside, in pouring rain on a wooden bench looking up at the dark sky, thinking of a childhood I never had. People who walk by me always look at me like Im some humanoid freak, because I usually wear nothing but pajama pants and see-through t-shirt (I have an unusually warm body temperature). Everyone except for one. His name is Trevor. He's 6ft, 21 years old, has short dark brown hair and sea green eyes, and pretty damn muscular. A good example of the stereorypical jock. I never really knew I was gay until I laid eyes on him the very first day of collage. But I never really payed much attention to him , cause I have bigger things to think about in my life.

But that night, as I sat on the bench in the pouring rain, letting the water soak through my clothes, one of the first nice things happened to me. As I sat crosslegged, with my head rested on the back rest of the bench with my eyes cosed, I heard a familiar, deep manly voice. "Hey, are you alright?".

My eyes fly open. What's he doing her, I think to myself. "Im fine. Just enjoying the weather," I say.

"Arent you cold?" He asks. Thank god we're in the rain, or he would see me blush.

"Im not really cold, just a little," I say. What he does next could have mde me smile, but I some how managed to keep a strwight face. He comes and sits by me om the bench, a little closer than how other how other people sit by me, but he just puts his umbrella over me and him.

"Dont you have a place to stay?" he asks, while staring deep into my eyes.

"My house is behind us" I quickly say. His sea green eyes quickly look to his right, than back at me. His eyes stay locked with mine.

"Just getting a little fresh air, or a little water in your lungs?" He asks while laughing. Its hard not to smile at his his lame joke.

"Yeah, I guess I am," I say with a forced chuckle. He laughs again, but this time its a little flirtatious.

"Hey, my friend is having a party at his parents house, cause they're out of town and he told me to invite as much friends I can, if you wanna come..." He says. Im shocked. Ive never really talked to him much and he already invites me to a party. I dont really want to go, but it would be btter than spending the night with my parents.

"Uhhhhhhh, sure!" I say. He smiles and stands up and puts a piece of paper in my hand, before he walks away without saying a word.

I didn't really notice it when I first looked at the crumpled piece of paper with the address and the directions, but on the very bottom had a phone number and a little note that read "call me or text me sometimes so I could pick you up. Its too far to walk". As soon I saw it, I immediately put the the number into my contacts in my phone. I dont see why I couldn't take the bus, but this was a better option. The day after the rainy day, I decided to text him about when was the party, and about 5 seconds after sent it, he replied back: "its toninigh! Its at seven, so I'll pick you up around 6:30ish". I had a good 4 hours, so decided to go out and buy a hair dye, since my black was about faded out. So I went out and bought an electric-blue hair dye.

My younger sister, Amy, helped me dye it, since shes like the only person in my family that's nice to me. We discuss if the electric-blue will match the party, but we both agree that it will, since its gonna be filled with collage kids. Our convrsation quickly turns to me and Trevor, since Amy is the only person who know Im gay.

"Maybe he's the one for you!" She says with her hands in my hair.

"Perhaps," I say sarcastically. If only that would happen, I think to myself.

"Or for me!!!" She says. We both laugh out loud.

6:30ish soons comes and I dress in dark blue plaid skinny jeans with a lot of zippers on it, a fish-net longsleeved shirt with a studded and spiked vest over it, black shiny knee-high boots, with my blue hair spiked up on a mini-Mohawk. As I wait for my ride, begin to get a little nervous. Ive been to these kind of parties befor, but the thing thats making me nervous is Trevor. Does he actually like me? Or does he just like me as a friend? Well, time will tell.

As I hear a knock on our front door, I dart downstairs, determined to get there before one of my parents does. But I was too late. My mom stood there with the door open, talking to my only ride to the party. I slowly walk towards her, taking in a deep breathe.

"may I help you?" She asks.

"Im here to pick Sean up for a party! Im his ride." He answers, unaware of me standing beside my mom. My mom turns to me and glares.

"Well, it looks like you actually have a friend! But if you go, youre not getting back to this house!" She says with poison.

"Piss off, you lousy excuse for a mother!" I snap. I know her ways. She always says that when ever I go out to parties ot hang out with friends. Bit I always sneak back into my room through my window. "Just kick me out of the house, already.
