Restless Dreams I

(Part 1 from 1. Fiction.)

***Ummmmm, yeah...! I'm kinda drawing a blanc for the part 3 for Knife in the Heart, but that dosnt mean I'm not going to write anymore, so I decided to write this, which was on my mind for a while. The characters in this story are NOT real people, just made up! Enjoy!!!

My name is Grayson Hayes, although I prefer to be called Grey, I am 22 years old, and a model. Yeah, I know what you're thinking, you're thinking "wow, the life of a model! you must be really lucky!" People are really naive to think that. My life couldn't get any worse. I always thought that being a model would mean living in a fancy home, V.I.P nightclubs, and wild sex every night.

Oh, how wrong I was. Sure I have more then enough cash in my wallet, but there's no fancy house, just a hotel room. No nightclubs and the only sex I have every night is with men on Craig list.

And during the day, my life mainly consists of crowds of people re-dying my Mohawk, swabbing makeup on my face, and replacing my old lip piercing for new ones, before the big photo shoots for hot Topic and Rue 21 ads. And when I'm not behind the camera? Well, I either stay in my hotel room watching TV or hurl empty whiskey bottles at the wall.

But I never intended to be a model. I've always wanted to be an actor. And a lot of research has told me that most actors started out as models, before they made it to Hollywood. And what has three years of modeling given me? One fucking role in a poorly scripted slasher movie.

But I guess a few people liked my acting, after one little phone call came my way, one rainy afternoon. A woman, I remember, with a thick british accent confirmed my private audition with the director and two other actors that were going to be in it. I already auditioned for the role; I remember acting the monologue with all the other desperate actors literally breathing down my neck. After I was finished, they thanked me and told me to inspect a phone call if they were considering me for the part. I never expected them to call me. Ever. But now, my luck has started to turn.

The movie I was auditioning to be in was a ghost story. Not one of those with the group of partying college kids and the constant drinking abd sex, but a legit ghost story. It was about two brothers who check into a hotel, after their house was destroyed in a fire, and soon are plagued by terrifying nightmares that soon trap them in the hotel's nightmarish realms.

And the two brothers were to be played by two of the world's most famous sex symbols: Scott Braunxt and Canon Westenra. And the part I was auditioning for was the main antagonist. The male violent spirit. It was the perfect part for a beginner like me.

The private audition was in a studio in Santa Monica. A long drive from San Diego, but totally worth it. Only a handful of people like me get to have private auditions, since they give you a better chance at getting the part. And the chances of me getting the part was getting bigger and brighter after the woman telling me that they were really, REALLY considering me for the part.

As much as I was excited, I was also really nervous. What if I screw up? What if I pole a boner infront of the two male sex symbols, and get kicked out? As all these unfortunate possibilities swam around in my head, me cell phone rang.

"He- hello?" I answer. There's a short pause, before the person on the other end answers me. "Yes, Mr. Hayes. Congratulations! The other two auditioners canceled their private auditions, and you're all that's left! You are now casted as Jonathon Thompson, in Restless Dreams!" says the woman with the British accent.

It takes me a moment before I can respond. I'm shocked! Is this some wonderful dream!? "But- but, I haven't even done my private audition yet! Are you sure they can do this!?" I ask. "Yes, I can assure you that they can, Mr. Hayes. They chose you out of hundreds of applicants. But if you don't want the part, I can call them and say you declined the offer...?"

"No, no, no, no, NO! I want the part! I'm just a little shocked, that's all!" I say. "Good! Well, tomorrow morning there will be a short breakfast, then a cast meeting where some entertainment journalists will interview you, and the other actors a well.

It will all in the Queen Mary Hotel; both the filming and the interviews. And don't worry, I've already booked you a room there! You should arrive there around 8:30" She says. This is all so sudden. The only words I can conjure out of my lips are "Uhmmm, thanks!". Then she hangs up.
