The Truth About Love Songs: Chapter 5

(Part 3 from 4. Fiction.)

Lucas felt a pang of jealousy hit him and he released Tyler from his embrace. “Oh” he said simply “Had a good time then?” Lucas put his hands in his jeans pockets and stared at the ground.
Tyler turned around and saw the look in Lucas’ eyes. He smiled and lifted his face up with the tip of his index finger. “Hey” he said softly “I went out one night. I had a great time but I missed the hell out of you. And if I had the choice I would rather have been with you”
Lucas smiled weakly and felt ashamed for acting so foolish. “I didn’t mean to over react like that, sorry”
“And I’m the one who want to be actor” Tyler laughed embracing him and kissing his lips softly.

Tyler and Lucas’ one year anniversary was approaching fast and Lucas wanted to do something special for Tyler. He had borrowed money from his parents. He planed on taking Tyler out and seducing him. He had found a half decent two star hotel, which he could just about afford, a few miles away. He called up a few days beforehand and arranged champagne in the room as well as rose petals scattered on the bed. He knew it was a bit tacky but wanted their night to be special. He had bought him a D&G watch which he had inscribed on the back ‘Tyler, with every second that goes by my love for you continues to grow, forever yours Lucas.’ It has cost him a small fortune and he would be paying his parents back forever, but Tyler was worth it. His mother couldn’t understand why he wanted to spend so much money on a hotel and expensive gifts when they could have had a nice meal at home with the family. Lucas didn’t even dignify that suggestion with a response.
The night before Lucas had stayed over at Tyler house where Tyler’s mother took them both out for a meal. They had refused but she insisted. As they sat around the table in the small Italian restaurant, Melissa giggled and raised her glass to toast the two young men before her.

“I can’t believe it’s been a year already. You are both still so in love.”
They both smiled and thanked her “So is this your treat or do I have to pay half.” Tyler said dryly.
“No, tonight this is on me. But don’t think that things have changed, not until you tell me your going back to collage”
“Well that’s not going to happen” Tyler said, sipping on a glass of wine.

Lucas had watched this scene play out a thousand times and was sick of it. He knew Tyler and his mother would argue about this all night if he didn’t cut in and stop it. “Alright you two” He started, in his best authoritarian voice. “We’ve all heard this argument before and no one is going to win. So just for tonight, can we drop it?”

Both of them looked at Lucas in defeat and never said another word about it. The rest of the night went smoothly, with both Lucas and Tyler drinking a little too much and passing out in the taxi home. Melissa managed to convince the cab driver to help her carry them inside the house when they arrived home that night. When she got them settled in Tyler’s room she walked the taxi driver out and tipped him greatly but he refused the money saying “I’ll let you keep that if I can have your number. Maybe take you out to dinner some time” Melissa smiled and for the first time really looked at the stranger standing on her front porch. He wasn’t that much taller that she was, maybe about 5’10, 5’11 with chocolate brown hair and matching eyes. He looked to be in his early forties. His eyes sparkled in the light of the overhead porch lamp. She couldn’t really tell, but his body seemed to be quite toned under the light jacket he wore. She smiled in appreciation of his offer. He wasn’t someone she would normally go for but he seemed nice enough. She scribbled down her number and smiled warmly at him. “Thanks” he said and turned to leave. Before he reached the cab he turned and said “By the way, my name is Thomas” He got in and drove away. Melissa smiled to herself as she watched the taxi go by, enjoying the moment. She hadn’t been on a date in six months and was desperate for some company. She missed hanging out with Tyler. Between fighting, working and him spending all his spare time with Lucas, she never got to talk to him anymore. She loved Lucas like a son and was happy that Tyler had found someone to love; she was just scared that he was going to go off and start a new life with Lucas and she’d be left alone. For so long it had just been the two of them and now all that has changed. She sighed deeply and wrapped her arms around herself as she took a seat on the step, allowing the cool night air to embrace her.

She let her mind wonder over Tyler’s father. She missed him so much she almost couldn’t stand it. When she watches her son smile it instantly bring her back to the first time she ever saw her late husband. Tyler looked so much life his father, it was scary. She was just thinking that it was his smile that got her first. Before she could delve deeper into her memories she heard a loud crash and a big bang followed by “Oh fuck”. She got up, pulled herself together and when to find out which one of her drunken boys was destroying her house.

Everything went as planned for Lucas and Tyler’s big night. The hotel managed to get everything sorted in their room. They got some funny looks when they went to check in, with the clerk at the desk doing a double take when she realised it was going to be two men in the room. She stammered the whole time she checked them in. Lucas and Tyler couldn’t help but laugh at the situation. She was very attractive with long red hair a pale skin. Her eyes were big and her lips full. She handed them the keys and wished them a good night. They both thanked her and headed for the elevator.
Once the doors had closed on the empty elevator, they grabbed each other and engaged in a hot kiss with Tyler pushing Lucas against the wall. He moaned loudly as his tongue fought for dominance. Both their cocks were as hard as rock and begging for release. They had been kissing for about twenty seconds when the bell dinged. They both stopped slowly and fixed the front of their jeans, trying to make the bulge in them less obvious for their short walk down the well lit corridor.

When they entered the room, Tyler couldn’t help but laugh when he saw rose petals scattered on the king size bed. He turned to Lucas and said “Did you arrange all this” Lucas smiled and nodded his head. Tyler kissed him again. They made their way in and began looking around. It wasn’t the nicest room in the world. The curtains hanging at the window had seen better days and the bed frame seemed a little wonky but it was clean, which was the main thing. Lucas made Tyler sit on the bed and close his eyes and wait without moving. He walked over to a small CD player, that sat on a decrepit looking dresser, and turned it on. Tyler waited patiently for something to happen, then he heard the first few bars one of his favourite song, ‘Simply Beautiful’ by Al Green. Tyler smiled and when he opened his eyes Lucas was standing in front of him completely naked.

The sex that night was raw, wild and passionate, with both of them really loosing all their inhibitions. They felt like they hadn’t made love in forever and every kiss, every touch, sent them to a higher plain where only they existed. They couldn’t get enough of each other and they never wanted the feeling to end.
Their clothes were scattered everywhere, along with the sheets. Lucas sat with his back against the head board, with his legs spread while Tyler sat between them, drinking from the half empty champagne bottle. They spoke about the last year of their lives and giggled at all the stupid things they had done in the beginning of their relationship. Their fingers inter locked while they shared their memories and held each other tightly.

They fell silent for a moment then Lucas started to speak. “Sometimes I wonder what would have happened to me if we never moved to America. If dad had never gotten that job, or I had gotten my own way and stayed in London. I wonder what I would be doing now. Who I’d be with”
“I don’t ever think about that” Tyler said, kissing that back of Lucas hand “You know why?”
“Why?” Lucas smiled
“Because I knew that you were made for me and I was made for you. We were destined to be together and whether your father got his great job or not, I would have found you. You are my soul mate and not even being three thousand miles away would have changed that. I was born, only to love you.” A single tear rolled down his face as he stared into Lucas eyes. The love they felt for each other was overwhelming for both of them.
“Look at you getting all soppy” Lucas said after fighting back his own tears
“Well, you bring out the romantic in me” They both giggled a bit then kissed. Lucas stopped abruptly and gave Tyler his best Cheshire cat smile.
“What?” Tyler said suspiciously
“I got something for you”
“Luc, I told you not to buy anything. We’re meant to be saving to get a place, you know that. I could kill you already for getting this room”
“I know but I couldn’t help it. This is our first year together and I just wanted to get you a little something”
“The room was more than enough. I would rather have us living in a place of our own than one night in a hotel”
