The most thrilling night of my life, Part VI

(Part 2 from 4. Fiction.)

Then on the second to last week before I left for Houston, the most extraordinary but really awesome thing happened between me and my mom. I knew I had one of the kewlest mom’s in the world. But I never realized just how neat she really was. And I think it brought us even closer together which I didn’t think was possible cause we were so close to begin with. One afternoon I was sitting in the kitchen just after making a huge glass of iced tea like I always did during summer. When my mom walked in, she asked where everyone was (meaning my older brother and my two little sisters). I informed her that my brother just left with his buddies to go play golf and my sisters were next-door playing with their friends. She sat down at the table next to me and poured herself a glass of tea. Then she asked, “So what do you have planned this afternoon, sweetheart?”

When I kindly explained probably not much and that I was just going to hang out and maybe watch some TV later, she literally blew my mind when she said, “Well why don’t you call Steve up and see if he’s home. And if he is, why don’t you go over there, spend the afternoon with him or even spend the night since you are going to be leaving next week. I know you’re really going to miss him and I know he’s going to miss you. I’ll just tell your father tonight when he comes home that you are spending the night over at a friend’s. That way he won’t suspect anything about you two--how’s that sound?”

I almost shook my head to make sure I actually head her right. But then she reached over and grabbed my hand. After she squeezed it a few times, she looked me in the eyes and said. “You know sweetheart, mom’s have a way of knowing these things--I’ve known about you two for a while now--and while it’s none of my business what you two do when you are together, I do know that he makes you very, very happy and that’s all that matters to me--now go call him up and take my car--I don’t need it today or tomorrow anyway.”

I looked at my mom I was so stunned and asked, “Are you sure?”

My mom smiled and replied, “Sure I’m sure sweetheart; now go call him”.

I couldn’t believe it! My mom had just told me that she knew I was gay and was having an affair with Steve without ever saying it. I got up from the table and gave her a big hug & kiss. Then I informed her I already knew Steve was home for I had just talked to him about twenty minutes earlier. I quickly threw a few thing together in an overnight bag and headed out the door.

After I drove up to Steve‘s condo, I quickly knocked on his door. When he opened it he was only wearing some tan shorts. He looked as sexy as he ever did in my mind. I walked in and gave him a big kiss. As we held one another in our arms, I quickly said as I kissed his right nipple several times, “ Guess What?”

Steve shrugged his shoulder with his hands wrapped around my ass and replied as he looked down at me, “I don’t know, what?”

I replied with a smile on my face, “My Mom,” as I kissed his left nipple.

Steve replied, “What about your mom?”

I replied back, “She knows about us.”

Steve replied, “What do you mean she knows about us?”

I smiled and replied, “She knows we are seeing one another.”

Steve replied, “What? How the heck do you know that?”

I replied, “She just told me to come on over here and spend the night if I wanted cause I was leaving next week--she said that she had a way of knowing these things--and she told me not to worry for she would cover for me and tell my dad that I was spending the night over at a friend’s so he won’t suspect anything about us. Can you believe that?”

By now Steve took a deep breath and said, “Wow, that’s hard to believe.”

I replied with a smile on my face as I kissed his right nipple, “I know it is.”

Steve then asked, “You don’t think she will say anything to anyone about us, do you?”

I quickly replied, “Oh heck no. You know mom’s have a way of protecting their children and my mom would never tell anyone--not even my dad unless I wanted her to--so don’t worry about it--and if my mom didn’t like you, she would have never told me in a thousand years to come over here so I could be with you”.

It was at that very moment we both realized how strong our love was for one another. And while I had second thoughts about leaving, I sure wasn’t about to let my parents and especially Steve down. After I kissed his nipples back and forth at least ten times, I reached into his shorts and grabbed his cock. Steve immediately knew what I wanted so he sat down on the sofa. I got down on my knees between his legs, removed his shorts and sucked him off since I knew I wouldn’t have many more opportunities like that before I headed off for college. Later that evening we had the best time just the two of us. We rented some movies, ordered pizza in and hopped in bed cause we just wanted to be together. And when Steve fucked me just before we went to sleep, somehow it seemed all that more legitimate since my mom not only knew about us, but in fact gave our relationship her blessing.

When the last day before I left rolled around the following week, of course my mom let me drive over to Steve’s so I could be with him one last time. After we fucked and took a nice shower together, he told me to be a good and study hard cause that was the most important thing if I was going to keep my scholarship valid. Of course we both shed a few tears before I walked out the door even though we tried to put on brave faces in front of one another. He gave me one final deep wet kiss on my lips and said, “Now go on Collin. Go out there and make me proud of you--and you better stay away from all those Cowboys down in Texas who will be chasing you,” as a smile crossed his face.

With that I walked out the door and never looked back. But when I got in my car, I really lost it and broke down weeping. Somehow I knew Steve was doing the very same thing up in his condo.

The following morning I got up bright and early, like five-thirty. I was already packed so all I had to do was take a shower and brush my teeth. Everyone in my family got up along with me so we could all have breakfast together one final time as a family. My mom couldn’t stop crying almost from the moment she got out of bed. But that was to be expected. Once we all ate breakfast after I flipped pancakes for everyone one last time, my dad loaded my luggage in his trunk while I ran up to my room, opened my lock-box and put Trent’s ring in my pocket. I knew somehow it would bring me good luck when I got down to Houston and I always wanted Trent with me in sprit no matter where I went or what I did.

When I came back downstairs of course everyone wanted to go alone to the airport with us. But my dad insisted that it just be he and I. After I kissed my mom & sisters and gave my brother a big long hug, I got into my dad’s car. Of course they all started crying. Even my big brother who I don’t think I ever saw shed a tear in his life lost it there for a minute. But I told everyone that I would be back in just three short months for Thanksgiving would be here before they knew it. My little sister, Jodi who I always called, Muffin yelled out, “I love you Collin” as we drove off.

On our way to the airport my dad informed me that he had just deposited two thousand dollars into my checking account to get me started that he had pulled from my college fund. At the time I didn’t even know I had a college fund. But my dad explained that he and my mom had been putting away money for years just for that very propose. Then he surprised the hell out of me when put in my hand a new credit card in his and my name to be used for emergencies only. He also pulled out of his pocket an extra 300 dollars in crisp fifty dollar bills and put it in my hand just for some extra spending money after I first got there. So I was set with no worries.

When we got to the airport, my dad walked me down to my gate where we sat and chatted for a few minutes before they called my flight. I think for the first time I was really excited about going out into the big world all by myself. And I knew that my dad could see it in my eyes. When they finally announced my plane was ready for boarding, I gave my dad a big hug & kiss, thanked him for everything, especially the money, and then proceeded down the jet-way. I turned around for a brief moment and waved back. When I did, I could see tears streaming down his eyes. I smiled, gave my dad a big thumbs up as I descended down the jet-way. It was then that it hit me I would probably never be coming home to live permanently with my family again.

No sooner did I get on the airplane and found my seat, when a really friendly fight attendant came up and offered to stow my carry-on bag in an overhead bend. I later learned that his name was Jim, was 34, single and based with the airline in Houston. The flight was less than a quarter full so the captain announced that everyone had plenty of room to spread out on our way down to Houston. Once I got settled in my seat, the first thing I did was pull Trent’s ring out of my pocket and placed it on my finger. Now I could wear it openly if I wanted to. And I wanted Trent to be with me on my flight down to Houston just for good luck.

After we took off and got up in the air, Jim came up and introduced himself while he poured me a coke. Since it was slow and I was sitting toward the back anyway, he sat down next to me and we chatted for about half-an-hour. Right away he admired my ring. He remarked just how good it looked on me. I just smiled and replied that it was given to me by a guy who was a friend of mine. He smiled back and remarked, “Well he must be one hell of a good friend, Collin.”

During the course of our conversation, I learned he had been a flight attendant for eight years, liked fishing, bowling, movies, dancing and lived by himself in two bedroom condo. I suspected all along that he was gay and I kind of sensed that he knew I was too. When I informed him that I was going to Houston so I could attend Rice University, he smiled and replied, “Oh, well, we are going to be neighbors then. I only live less than two miles from Rice over in Montrose”.

Little did I know at the time Rice University was on the fringe of the Montrose area of Houston which was the gay area of town.

When we landed at Houston’s smaller airport, Hobby International that was located on the south side of town, Jim told me as I was exiting the plane to catch the Univ-3 bus from the upper deck and it would take me right into University Park where Rice was located. I wasn’t sure whether to catch a cab or take his advice and hop on bus to try and save some money. But I finally decided to take the bus given it wasn’t even noon yet and I had nothing else to do for the rest of the day anyway.

No sooner did I collect my luggage from baggage claim and stepped out on the curb when I saw Jim pulling out of the garage. He honked and waved as he flew by me. But just as his car reached the far end of the parking lot, suddenly his red tail lights came blazing on. He backed his car up to the curb where I was standing, rolled down his window from the passenger side and said, “You look about as lost as a dyslexic child at a spelling bee, Collin. Come on, hop in, I’ll take you straight to Rice”.

Normally I would have never accepted a ride from a stranger. But since I had visited with Jim and knew he worked for the airline, I gladly took him up on his generous offer. I quickly loaded my luggage into the trunk of his new Toyota and off we went. No sooner did we hit the freeway when I couldn’t get over how big Houston really was. There were huge building everywhere almost like Chicago. Jim just looked at me and said, “Well Collin, What do you expect, Houston is the fourth largest city in the country after all”. Then he told me all about the city and every neat thing to do and see.

After we exited the freeway about 20 minutes later, Jim said something really, really cute to me that I will never forget. As we made a right turn and headed west on Richmond Ave. in the Montrose area of town, he quickly looked over at me and said, “This is the gay area of town, Collin. So if you’re not gay then you probably don’t want to come to this part of town. But if you are gay then you will probably want to come to this part of town as often as possible. I don’t know about you, but I like to come here as often as possible and not only that, but I live here too”, as a smile crossed his face and he looked over at me.

I thought about what he said for a few seconds. Then a smile suddenly crossed my face and I replied, “Well I think I will like coming here too as often as possible”.

Right away Jim broke out laughing and replied, “Ahhhhhh Collin, Jason (the other flight attendant on the plane) and I both knew that you were one of us when we first saw you looking for your seat. I just gotta call him later and tell him that we were right”.

We both got a good laugh out of that as he drove along Richmond Ave. towards Rice.

Once we got to the university and drove on campus, we asked for directions to my dorm. Jim kindly offered to help me with my luggage once we found the place. After we pulled up to the front of the building, Jim popped the trunk and said, “Here we are, come on, let’s go see what this place is all about”.

When we entered the dorm reception area, a gentleman in his late-twenties was there to greet us. He introduced himself as, Sean, informed us that he was the warden of the dorm or “headmaster” and then checked my name off his list. After he handed me a school itinerary along with a bunch of other stuff like my cafeteria card, dorm rules, freshman orientation & registration, he told me that I may wind up for the first semester having my own room. He explained that my roommate was supposed to be a guy from Trenton, New Jersey. But evidently he went on some kind of three day safari a few weeks back over in Africa and hadn’t been seen or heard from since. Sean added that the authorities were searching for him as well as the rest of the members in the group, but so far hadn’t had any luck.

Jim shrugged his shoulders, chuckled and remarked, “Well maybe they got eaten by some lions”.

Sean snickered back and replied, “Nahaaaa, I bet they either fell into some quicksand or ended up being some tribe’s late night snack-- who the hell knows.”

With that out of the way Sean then informed me that school started a week from Monday which of course I already knew. He added that my freshman orientation began on Wednesday, at one o’clock, registration was on Thursday at nine the next morning, and I was to get my books on Thursday afternoon or Friday over at the book store once I knew what classes I would be taking.

Given it was only Saturday, I asked Sean what I should be doing until Wednesday. He replied, “Nothing! Just go out and enjoy the city or hang out on campus. The dorm will start filling up early next week”.

Then he said, “Come on; follow me gentlemen,” as he walked us upstairs two flights and down a long corridor. When he opened the door to my room, he dropped the key in my hand and said, “Here we are Collin, home sweet home for you guy.”
