The most thrilling night of my life, Part VI

(Part 3 from 4. Fiction.)

As Jim and I walked into the room, we both glanced the place over. It was kind of small but certainly functional. The furniture and amenities included two twin beds on each side of the room, two desks, two small closets, a bathroom, a TV and one picture of a sailing ship on the wall. Sean pointed down the hall and mentioned the shower room was five doors down on the right side and that I needed my key to get in.

Just as Sean was about to leave, he said, “Oh by the way, the pay phones are down in the lobby in case you need to call home. And go ahead and take whatever bed you want, Collin. I mean, I serious doubt your roommate will be showing up in the next five minutes to fight you over which side of the room you want”, as he chuckled and closed the door behind him.

Jim then sat down on one bed and I sat on the other while we looked the room up & down again. Suddenly I remembered that I needed to call home cause my mom was probably on pins and needles by now. When I informed Jim that I needed to go downstairs so I could phone my parents, he quickly whipped his cell phone out, tossed it over to me and said, “Here, use mine.”

The instant my mom answered and I said, “Hello Mom”, I knew tears were streaming down her eyes again. But I tried my best to sound as up beat as possible and even told her that my flight attendant gave me a ride from the airport to Rice. After I chatted with her a few minutes then of course everyone else in my family wanted to talk to me (even my grandparents who had just come over) to make sure I was still alive.

Jim smiled for he could tell that I came from a very close & tight-net family just by overhearing the brief conversation I had with everyone. Somehow I could sense he was happy to see that nucleus and loving families still existed in our country.

Finally, my dad came on the line. He told me to hold on because he wanted to go into the other room so we could talk in private. Once he came back on the line, he quietly whispered, “Son, your mom has been crying every since you left--so I want you to go get yourself a cell phone today and charge it on our credit card---take a cab if you have to--but just get one today and call us--I think your mom will sleep much better knowing that she can hear your voice at any time.”

I couldn’t believe it! I was actually getting my own cell phone. I wanted to yell “yippee,” but instead I just said, “Sure dad; I’ll do it just after I get unpacked.”

Then my dad said as I could hear him walking back into the kitchen, “Here son, your mom wants to talk to you one more time before we hang up.”

After my mom and I chatted for just a brief moment and we said our good-byes, Jim did the sweetest thing. It was then that I realized he would become a good friend for life. He got off his bed and walked across the room over to me. He lowered his hand and said, “Here, let me speak to your mom, Collin”.

When I told my mom that my flight attendant, Jim wanted to speak to her and handed the phone over, Jim grabbed it and put it up to his ear. He said with a smile on his face, “Hello mom, this is Jim, Collin’s fight attendant. Don’t worry about your son--he’s in good hands--trust me-- he still alive and appears to be breathing very well on his own from what I can gather--since it’s his first night in Houston, I’ll even take him out to dinner if he wants to go with a group of us later on--how’s that?”

I could tell instantly the two really connected and Jim had managed to soothe my mom’s nerves which I was certainly very grateful to him. They chatted for a few minutes and then I heard Jim promise my mom that if I had any problems, he would be there for me. Just as Jim flipped his cell phone up, he looked at me with a smile on his face and said, “Gezzzz Collin, your mom is a nervous wreak! But I think I got her calmed down.”

I smiled as I sat there on my bed and replied, “Well thanks Jim. I know my mom really, really appreciated you talking to her the way you did.”

After Jim helped me unpack and I felt satisfied that I was pretty much settled in, he said, “Collin, I don’t know about you, but I am getting hungry. Would you like to go get a BBQ sandwich and fries? There’s this really excellent place on Richmond Ave. that I like to go to”.

I smiled and replied, “Heck yea, I’m starving too, but do you think we can stop somewhere first so I can get a cell phone? My dad just told me to get one so my mom won’t worry about me”.

Jim quickly replied, “Oh sure we can; and I know just where to go to too”.

With that I looked around for a moment to make sure I was satisfied with everything one more time then we headed out the door.

When we hopped in Jim’s car and he fired it up, he reached over and popped his glove box open. It was stuffed with a bundle of papers. He unstrapped the rubber band and the bundle suddenly sprang open almost like an accordion. As we sat there with the car idling, he began to go through the bundle of papers with his fingers. When I asked what he was doing, he replied, “Hold on Collin, I’m looking for something”.

A few seconds later he exclaimed, “Ahhh, found the damn thing!”

He pulled from the bundle a gift certificate for a free cell phone of one’s choice. He handed it over to me and said, “Here Collin, lets go get you a free phone so you don’t have to buy one.”

I quickly replied for I couldn’t believe it, “Are you sure, Jim? I mean, don’t you want to use it for yourself?”

Jim smiled at me and replied, “What for? I already have a new phone. One of the vice-presidents of Cellular gave that gift certificate to me on a flight to Los Angeles a couple of months ago when I was working up in the first class section. I never thought I would use it.”

Just as I kindly thanked him, he popped the car into drive and off we went.

The minute I got my new phone, I called home. While I chatted with my mom and gave her my new number, I could tell Jim was excited as all hell that he had done such a wonderful deed for me, and my mom for that fact. I already knew that Trent’s ring had certainly brought me good luck in Houston for I hadn’t been there two hours yet, and I already met a true friend in Jim.

When school finally started up, I really hunkered down. I wasn’t about to let Steve or my parents down. My roommate, Russell never did show up so I had my own room. Sean informed me about a month later that the authorities after six weeks finally canceled their official search for the group. And while it sounded kind of funny to some that they got eaten by lions or fell into quicksand or something like that, I went out and bought a candle and lit it in my room in Russell’s memory while I said a little prayer for him. I also phoned his mom one afternoon and told her how sorry I was and that I was still prying for his safe return. I mean my mom would have never lived through something like that had it happened to me.

Then came my first gay encounter in Houston. I had seen this guy, Allen around the dorm from time to time and thought he was kind of cute. He wasn’t working on his bachelor’s degree like a number of us in our dorm were, but rather on a Ph.D. from the University of Montana. He was just my type too-- early to mid thirties, around 5’11, medium build, clean cut, black hair and pretty hazel eyes. But he wore a wedding ring so I figured he was married. Therefore I didn’t pay him much mind.

I overheard Sean mention one day to a friend in the recreation room that Allen was here for just one semester while he worked on his formal dissertation that had something to do with Astronomy in conjunction with Rice over at NASA.

One Saturday night, I was studying really hard reading through my political science book and lecture notes. I had just scored a 97 on a Friday exam in the course and was really pumped-up after getting such a terrific grade. I vowed next time to make a perfect score cause I wanted to finish at the top of the class of 343 students. It seemed like everyone that night was at the Rice/Texas A&M football game so you could have heard a pin drop in my dorm that was normally noisy as hell--especially on Saturday evenings.

About ten o’clock, I decided to take a shower and call it a night. Jim was going to pick me up early the next morning for we were going to go down by the beach and have Sunday brunch on Galveston Bay (another gay haven) with some of his friends.

I took off my clothes, wrapped a towel around my waist, grabbed my key, shampoo & soap and walked down the hall to the shower room like I normally did. No sooner did I unlock the door and entered the room when I removed my towel and hung it up on a rack. I walked in the open shower cubicle, found a shower head and turned on the water. Just as soon as I felt the warm mist spray my naked body, in popped Allen. And like I had just done, he removed his towel, hung it on the rack and walked into the cubicle. But instead of using one of about 15 shower heads that were scattered throughout the room, he walked right up to the second to next one from my right side. Just as soon as he turned the water on, I briefly glanced over so I could check out his naked body.

Without a doubt, Allen looked every bit as hot in the buff as I thought he would. A gorgeous patch of hair covered his chest and I’d ventured to guess that his well hung cock grew to at least nine inches when fully erect. I really thought he had a nice pair of nipples too--something that always turned me on in a guy.

When he turned away from me for just a brief moment, I got a glimpse of his ass. It wasn’t flat like a lot of men, but was just a tad plump but firm, hairy and crested out from the back of his lower spinal cord. I couldn’t help but fantasize as to what it would be like to wrap my legs around his butt while he laid on top of me and we made-out.

After I had soaped my entire body and was about to rinse off, I thought I caught him checking me out through the right side of my eye. Even though I wasn’t completely sure, I casually turned slightly to my left or away from him so he could get perfect view of my butt. When I did, I could almost sense that his eyes were fixated on it.

No sooner did I turn back around and briefly looked his way for just a moment as if it couldn’t be helped, when I noticed his cock was about half erect. He quickly turned as if he didn’t want me to see his semi-stiffy and began shampooing his hair. So I did likewise and shampooed mine. Just about the time we both fully rinsed off, he looked at me and I looked at him. As he glanced me up and down a few times, a smile suddenly crossed his face and he said, “Hi, my name is Allen. I’ve seen you around here since school started, but I don’t think we’ve ever met,” as he reached over to shake my hand.

I kindly replied, “Hi Allen, nice to met you. My name is, Collin,” as I gave him a firm handshake.

Then he asked, “How come you didn’t go to the football game tonight like everyone else did?”

I replied, “Well, I’m not a big football fan and I wanted to study anyway cause I am going out tomorrow with some friends.”

Allen replied, “Yea me neither. Some of us just don’t like sports”.

I smiled back and remarked, “Yep, but I will occasionally watch a game here or there--maybe next week I will go to the game if Rice is playing at home”.

Allen smiled and replied, “Well let me know and maybe I will go with you.”

After he made that remark, I knew instantly he must have liked me. I mean he wanted to go to the football game with me and we really hadn’t even met yet aside from a brief greeting.

Before I knew it, we had been in shower for almost a half-an-hour talking. I told him all about myself, that I was from Chicago and was awarded full academic scholarship to Rice. He in turn told me he was originally from California, but taught Astronomy at the University of Montana and was trying to get his Ph.D. so he could become a full professor with tenure. It was kind of odd in that we chatted completely naked for so long. But I knew he was enjoying it just as much as I was. And by now I could definitely sense he was attracted to me and I was sure he could sense I was definitely attracted to him.

Just about the time Allen turned his shower-head off and I did the same to mine, he did the cutest thing. He looked at me and said, “Well, I really enjoyed talking to you Collin. I’d invite you over to my room tonight, but I have a roommate and I don’t know when he’s coming back,” as he suddenly walked up from behind me, reached around and gently squeezed my soft dick a few times.”

After he performed that little love gesture, I certainly wasn’t about to let him get a way without presenting a viable option. I mean I had gone a full month without having sex and I was climbing the walls. So I quickly turned around and said, “Well we can always go over to my room. I don’t have a roommate”.

Allen quickly replied almost as if he didn’t believe me, “You don’t? I mean don’t get me wrong, I’d really love to come over. That would be great!”

I replied, “Well I was supposed to have one, but he disappeared while on a safari in Africa and no one as seen or heard from him since.”

Allen then remarked, “Oh I heard about that guy a few weeks back from Sean. Yea, that’s really too bad. I bet what happened was that he and his group got caught in flash flood and were swept into a river. It happens every so often when Africa suddenly get these downpours in the winter which it was at that time of year down there.

I never thought about that particular theory, but it sounded just as good as anyone else’s.
